Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on 27 April 2025 to discuss military preparedness and security measures following the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists from various states. The high-level meeting, held at the Defence Minister’s residence in Delhi, lasted around 40 minutes. General Chauhan reportedly briefed Singh on military strategies and counter-terrorism measures to address the ongoing threat.
In addition, senior Border Security Force (BSF) officials convened in Delhi to address critical defence preparedness. BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary also visited the Home Ministry to discuss security matters.
On the naval front, the Indian Navy successfully conducted an anti-ship missile exercise, reaffirming its full combat readiness to protect India’s maritime security. The exercise, conducted from Indian Naval ships, was part of a larger effort to test long-range precision strike capabilities, ensuring personnel and systems are primed for rapid response. The Navy confirmed multiple successful anti-ship missile launches, demonstrating its operational readiness and commitment to safeguarding the nation’s interests.
